About Christa
Hey Friends, I’m Christa Barlow. I grew up where the green grass grows, just outside town in southern Indiana. I grew up on the back of a horse and spent years in my papaw’s barn caring for and showing Quarter Horses. Years of involvement in 4-H, summers spent on my family’s ranch in southern Oklahoma and a variety of other activities and clubs in school nurtured my love for people, animals and agriculture.
Family ties to Oklahoma and north Texas and a search for an ag school landed me in Stillwater, Oklahoma. 4 years later, my time at Oklahoma State University [go cowboys!] furnished a degree in Agricultural Communications and a brand-new husband. The next several years included jobs in the marketing and communications field, moving too many times as my husband worked on his master’s degree and started his career and becoming a mom to the orneriest little boy.
Whether it was a love of the auction and real estate industry or the ability to choose which 60+ hours I work a week that led me back to the family business, I haven’t figured out yet. Probably both. I grew up where Saturdays often involved a sloppy joe and Dr. Pepper from the auction concession stand and high school excused absences included being a cashier for a restaurant liquidation auction or checking in bidders for a land auction.
In 2015 my family had the opportunity to acquire the Stillwater, Oklahoma United Country office. The timing wasn’t ideal as I had an infant and my husband and I lived in east Texas. In spite of that, we knew Stillwater was our home and where we wanted to plant our roots and raise our babies amongst a sea of orange, in a small-town setting surrounded by green wheat fields and black cows. Since 2015 I’ve been working to grow my own real estate and auction career and we’re enjoying raising our kids and living our best life in central Oklahoma where the friendships are real, the weather is crazy and the sunsets are to-die-for!
